Weaver picked up her first collegiate victory and struck out more than 1.0 batter per inning during Mount’s trip to the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational. In three games, she posted a 1-0 record and pitched to an 0.70 ERA. Weaver, who logged two relief appearances and one start, registered 11 strikeouts over 10.0 innings. Making her first-ever appearance, she fanned two batters during a hitless inning in a 14-1 win over North Carolina Central. Weaver came out of the bullpen again during a setback to Eastern Kentucky, allowing one hit over a pair of scoreless frames. The first-year Mountaineer earned the start in Sunday’s win over Youngstown State. Weaver went the distance to secure an 8-1 victory, allowing five hits and one run while striking out six.
