Tuning up for the NEC Indoor Championships, Jones trimmed 0.80 second off her league-leading 400m time at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational and set a LIU Brooklyn program record in the process. The veteran sprinter clocked in at 54.82 to finish in third place out of 159 competitors at BU. The time broke a 19-year old program record (54.99) that was set by Fateen Abdel-Baaith in 1998. Jones currently ranks 11th overall amongst 400m sprinters on the ECAC regional leader board. She also owns the NEC’s top 500m time heading into this weekend’s championship meet.
