Simpson threw herself into the Top 20 on the ECAC regional leader board. The FDU junior put the shot 13.85 (45' 5.25") to strike gold at the Great Dane Classic and move into second place in the NEC behind Wagner's Zhane Stones. The performance qualified Simpson for the ECAC Championships in March and currently ranks 19th amongst qualifiers for the meet.
