Nardiello was as important to Sacred Heart’s perfect (10-0) start to Northeast Conference play as anyone. The veteran southpaw topped all NEC players in both traditional game average (212.00) and overall frame average (22.02) during the first of two regular season conference meets. Helping the Pioneers win all 10 matches and take a stranglehold of first place in the NEC standings, Nardiello threw 66 strikes in 106 chances and filled 89.6 percent of her frames. The SHU left-hander started Saturday’s schedule by firing a 202 game in a traditional team win over Saint Francis U and followed by registering a team-high 220-pin performance in a triumph over NEC preseason favorite Fairleigh Dickinson. After throwing six traditional games in excess of 200 on Saturday, Nardiello assumed the anchor position to begin Sunday’s competition and proceeded to fill 49 of 50 frames. Powering the Pioneers to baker victories over FDU, Saint Francis U, LIU Brooklyn and Caldwell, the Garden State product averaged 23.90 pins per frame and accounted for a .687 strike percentage. Nardiello, who struck 55 times in 80 attempts during baker play, threw doubles in 10 of the 21 tenth frames she bowled. She knocked down at least nine pins on 74 of 80 first-ball shots during SHU’s 4-0 showing on Sunday.
