Stones established herself as the early-season NEC leader in both throws. The senior Seahawk picked up one gold and one bronze while contesting the Metro Season Opener at Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island, NY. Eclipsing the automatic qualifying mark for the ECAC Championships in March, Stones put the shot 14.09m (46’ 2.75”) to finish first at the meet and take the NEC lead by 55 centimeters. Her 15.68m (51’ 5.5”) fling in the weight throw competition earned her first place in the conference as well as a bronze medal at the Metro Season Opener.
