WEEK 7 STATS: 8 total tackles (5 solo), 2 PBU, 1 INT, Return TD
Wells was a driving force for a Saint Francis defense that stifled Bryant to the tune of three points and -9 rushing yards. The junior defensive back accounted for eight stops, two pass break-ups and an interception that he returned for a touchdown. In addition to making some plays against the run, Wells was a key reason why the Flash were able to limit Bryant’s Dalton Easton, who entered the game as the league leader in pass yards per game, to a season-low 167 yards passing. Wells put an exclamation point on the 38-3 victory by picking off a pass at the Bryant 40-yard line and taking it back to paydirt with 4:42 remaining.
