WEEK 12 STATS: 391 passing yards, 61.9 completion pct., 4 passing TD
Easton capped his senior campaign by throwing for a career-high 391 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-34 road win over rival Sacred Heart. The veteran signal caller completed 22 of 36 pass attempts en-route to eclipsing the 368-yard performance he posted at Montana State in Week 2. Tossing four scoring strikes for the fourth time this season, Easton connected on touchdown passes of 22, 21, 18 and 67 yards to raise his season total to 28 and set the NEC’s single-season record in the process. Helping dig the Bulldogs out of an early 14-0 hole, he hit Taylor Barthelette on a 21-yard pass play that took the zero off the scoreboard with 8:50 left in the opening quarter. The Sunshine State product proceeded to hook up with Matt Sewall for a pair of touchdowns that were separated by a 2:05 span late in the first half. Easton’s 22-yard strike to Sewall gave Bryant its first advantage of the contest at 21-17 with 3:26 left in the second quarter and the Bulldogs led the rest of the way. Easton delivered the prime performance despite veteran receiver Kennan Thompson missing from the lineup and Barthelette leaving the SHU game early due to injury.
