Kuntz’s record-breaking performance spearheaded Duquesne’s dominant defensive showing in a 31-10 win over Sacred Heart. The senior linebacker, who totaled six tackles, became Duquesne’s all-time sack leader when he took down R.J. Noel for a 16-yard loss for the first of his two takedowns with 2:30 left in the first quarter. Kuntz later moved into a tie for first place on the NEC’s all-time sacks list (29.5) and found paydirt in the process. With the Dukes’ holding a 24-10 lead early in the fourth quarter, the 6-foot-2 Keystone State product registered a strip sack of Noel and recovered the loose ball in the end zone for a touchdown. Harassing the passer for much of the day, Kuntz was credit with three quarterback hurries in addition to the two takedowns. Against the run, he was in on four tackles that limited the ball carrier to no more than a 3-yard gain as Duquesne held SHU to its lowest offensive output of the season.
