WEEK 9 STATS: 149 yards from scrimmage, 30 carries, 147 rush yards, 1 rush TD, 4.9 ypc
Hines kept piling up the rushing yards during Duquesne’s come-from-behind home win over NEC rival Bryant. Surpassing the 100-yard rushing mark for the fifth time in his last six games, the rookie workhorse carried 30 times for 147 yards and one touchdown in the 35-31 triumph. Hines was a key component of the Dukes’ attack at decisive moments in the fourth quarter. With Duquesne trailing by three points and 11:13 left on the clock, Hines kicked off the go-ahead touchdown drive by ripping off a 54-yard run that brought the ball to Bryant’s 26-yard line. After the Dukes took a 35-31 lead on Blair Roberts’ fourth touchdown of the day, Hines helped salt away a victory. The freshman running back carried eight times on a 12-play drive that erased 7:05 off the clock and left Bryant with only 42 seconds to travel 84 yards.
