Contributing to a 19-6 NEC victory, Check effectively handling the punting duties while negotiating the tricky autumn winds at Joe Walton Stadium. The sophomore punted eight times, averaging 39.5 yards per boot and dropping three punts inside of the opponent’s 20-yard line. Check's first punt of the day, a 44-yard kick, buried the Blue Devils back at their own 1-yard line and put the RMU defense in position to tally the game’s first score (a safety two plays after the punt). The second-year Colonial was a key reason why CCSU’s average drive start came inside of its own 25. Check also pinned the Blue Devils at the 14-yard line and later at the 3 on subsequent punts.
