Ross contested the long jump for the first time in three weeks and the result significantly improved her conference standing. The first-year Mountaineer leapt 5.52m (18’ 1.5”) to secure a silver medal at the Red Flash Open. The mark moves Ross up to third place overall on the NEC leader board with the league’s championship meet next on the schedule. Ross’ teammate - Natalia Hinton (5.79m) - will be the top-seeded long jumper when the NEC Outdoor Championships commence in New Britain.
