Jones earns his fourth NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor this season after combining for 20 saves and just 13 goals allowed in SJU’s victories over Penn and Mount St. Mary’s to close out the regular season. The junior made seven saves in the Hawks’ 9-8 OT victory over Penn to pick up his 10th win of the season, a new single-season program record. In a 12-5 win over Mount St. Mary’s that clinched SJU a share of the NEC regular season title and the right to host the NEC Tournament, the Basking Ridge, NJ native stopped 13 shots, included six in the third quarter. With his 25th career victory in net vs. the Mount, Jones matched the program record for goalkeeper wins at SJU, originally set by Ryan McQuade (1996-99), and extended his single-season program record for goalkeeper wins to 11. The junior also moved into sixth all-time in career saves (322) at SJU. Jones leads the NEC with a 7.24 GAA and .589 save percentage.
