Albanese’s bat was a key reason why Bryant won all five of its games last week. The veteran outfielder hit .500 (9-for-18) with three doubles, one home run, six RBI and eight runs scored as the Bulldogs averaged 8.4 runs per victory. Extending his hit streak to nine games, Albanese logged at least one hit and one run in each of Bryant’s five wins. The Nutmeg State product struck out only once in 23 plate appearances last week. He victimized CAA member Delaware for three hits, two RBI and three runs in a 15-6 mid-week thumping. With the Bulldogs opening NEC play with a four-game sweep of Central Connecticut, Albanese’s production continued to the tune of six hits and four RBI against the Blue Devils. Albanese scored the first and last runs of the series finale, a 5-4 triumph for Bryant. Going deep for the first time this season, the centerfielder opened the game’s scoring in the first inning by launching a solo home run down the right-field line. After being hit by a pitch in the eight frame, Albanese came around to score the eventual winning run on a sac bunt by Brandon Bingel.
