DeRienzo wrapped a dominant regular season with a pair of #1 singles victories over two of the best in the NEC. The senior defeated reigning NEC Player of the Year Ryan Brown of Bryant (7-6, 6-4) and Fairleigh Dickinson’s Nicole Chis (7-5, 6-3) over the weekend. DeReinzo, a two-time NEC Player of the Month for the Pioneers, extended her winning streak to six matches. She leads the NEC with 17 singles wins, including a 15-2 mark in #1 flight dual matches and a 4-0 record against league competitors. The Douglaston, NY product also teamed up with Taylor Gurda for a 6-3 win against Bryant, the tandem’s tenth doubles victory of the year.
