Albanese provided a power surge during a series in which runs were hard to come by. The third-year Bulldog launched first-inning home runs in both of Bryant’s victories over NEC rival LIU Brooklyn. In what was a two-game, weather-shortened series, Albanese reached base safely four times and scored three runs while making eight plate appearances. The Bulldogs’ centerfielder also recorded a stolen base while adding to his league-leading runs total (22 – 21 gms). After Cole Fabio led off the series opener with a home run, Albanese followed by pulling a pitch over the left-centerfield fence to double Bryant’s lead in an eventual 3-1 victory. Albanese touched them all again in the first inning of Game 2. After LIU jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a homer in the top half of the inning, Albanese evened the score by blasting a one-out solo shot to centerfield. Two innings later, the veteran outfielder broke the 1-1 tie when he walked, stole second and came around to score the eventual game-winning run on an error.
