Grigoryan established herself as a force to be reckoned with last week, posting a pair of impressive #1 singles wins for the Blackbirds. On Saturday, she defeated 2014-15 NEC Player of the Year Ryan Brown of Bryant, 7-6 (5), 6-2, then came back the following day to post a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Seton Hall’s Luize Strike. Grigoryan also dropped a marathon three-setter (7-5, 6-7, 11-9) to Sacred Heart’s Katie DeRienzo, an All-NEC honoree last season. The Moscow native paired up with Caroline Koenigsfeldt to collect #1 doubles wins against Sacred Heart (6-3) and Bryant (7-5).
