Norton claims her third NEC Rookie of the Week award this spring for her contributions in SFU's 3-0 weekend at the Cherry Blossom Classic held at George Mason. The freshman hit .300, belted two home runs, scored three times and drove in six runs for the Red Flash. Norton, who hails from Spring Grove, PA, belted a two-run homer to leftfield in the sixth inning in what served as a walk-off in a 9-1 victory over Canisius on Friday. She came back on Saturday to record an RBI single in the first inning, a bases loaded walk in the second and a two-run blast in the fourth in a 13-0 conquest of Cornell. Norton currently leads the Red Flash with 30 RBI and a .690 slugging percentage, and is tied for first with six home runs.
