Bower was the culprit of a serious power surge against Ivy League member Cornell last week. The Keystone State product homered three times in nine at-bats against the Big Red. Spearheading the SFU attack in back-to-back-to-back victories over Cornell, Bower hit .556 (5-of-9) with three walks, five runs scored and five RBI. She went deep in each of the three victories, accounting for a rarely-seen 1.667 slugging percentage. Bower came through in the clutch during Sunday’s series finale, erasing a three-run deficit with one swing of the bat. With SFU trailing, 7-4, in the sixth inning, the junior first baseman fought through an 11-pitch at-bat that ended with the game-tying three-run bomb. Bower also contributed from the circle last week, recording one win and one save in a pair of appearances.
