Seneca’s showing at Arizona State’s Diamond Devil Classic lands the shortstop a second consecutive NEC Player of the Week honor. The SFU sophomore went 4-for-11 at the plate last week, belting three homeruns and logging eight RBI. Seneca went deep twice in a 12-9 setback to No. 19 Arizona State. She led off the fourth inning by blasting a solo shot over the centerfield fence, cutting ASU’s lead to 6-2. Seneca struck again two frames later, launching a grand slam that brought the Red Flash to within 12-9. Seneca homered again one day later, connecting on a three-run bomb in the fourth inning of the Flash’s eventual 10-1 triumph over Mount St. Mary’s. Seneca is hitting .404 with six homers and 24 RBI on the season thus far.
