The native New Yorker took the Lone Star State by storm during LIU Brooklyn’s three-day stay at the second annual Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks’ Classic. Enjoying one of her best weekends as a collegian, Bidwell averaged 21.05 pins per frame during the 17-team tournament that featured eight of the 10 programs who comprise the current NTCA Top 10. The 5-foot-7 senior threw 120 strikes in 212 attempts (.566) en-route to posting an .868 filled frames percentage. Bidwell was at her best during the baker play portions of the tournament. She accounted for 21.6 pins per frame over the course of nine baker matches. The Empire State product struck on more than 57 percent of her attempts during baker matches, guiding the team to victories over No. 1 Arkansas State, No. 3 Vanderbilt and No. 21 Prairie View A&M. The Bidwell-led Blackbirds also bowled well in a pair of narrow losses to top-25teams, eclipsing the 1,000-pin mark against No. 8 Stephen F. Austin and No. 19 Tulane. Bidwell was also effective during the six traditional team matches that LIU contested on Saturday. The right-handed veteran accounted for a team-high 202.2 traditional game average, a mark that ranked 17th out of 109 bowlers on the tournament’s individual leader board. She threw a 234 high game during a heart-breaking, five-pin loss to eventual tournament champion North Carolina A&T.
