Hermannsson earns his third NEC Player of the Week honor after yet another pair of stellar all-around performances in LIU Brooklyn’s sweep. He averaged 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 3.0 steals and made all 12 of his free throws in two wins that evened LIU’s record at 7-7 in NEC play. In an 82-69 victory over first place Wagner on Thursday, Hermannsson tallied 17 points and a career-high 11 rebounds for his first-ever double-double. Against rival St. Francis Brooklyn on Monday, Hermannsson had another stat-sheet stuffing effort with 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists, five steals and zero turnovers. The Iceland native is the only player in the nation this season that has reached the 19/7/5/5 plateau without a turnover, a feat he has accomplished twice. Hermannsson ranks fourth in the NEC in scoring (15.8) and assists (4.4), second in free throw accuracy (.884) and steals (1.9), seventh in three-point percentage (.383) and first in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.02).
