Harnish established herself as a NEC title contender thanks to her recent high jump performance. Clearing 1.68m (5’ 6”) at the SPIRE Midwest Open in Geneva, OH, the first-year Colonial moved to within two centimeters of the Northeast Conference leader. Harnish tied for the top height at the meet, but settled for a silver medal due to her number of prior misses. Harnish, who tied the fourth-highest mark in RMU history, is currently the NEC’s top-ranked rookie in both the pole vault and triple jump. She is also two centimeters off the automatic qualifying standard for the ECAC Championships.
