Hines’ latest performance in the weight throw stands as her best yet. Adding to the program record she set earlier in the season, Hines flung the 20-pound implement 18.71m (61’ 4.75”) while contesting the New York Metropolitan Championships. The mark, which is well above the qualifying standard for the ECAC Championships, earned the Bronx product a silver medal at the Mets. Hines, who sits sixth overall on the ECAC regional leader board, stands 1.67m better than the next-ranked NEC thrower.
