The Red Flash have vaulted into a first place tie in the NEC standings, due in part to the play of Drinnon, who posted a pair of double-doubles in two SFU home wins last week. Drinnon began his week with 12 points and 16 rebounds as the Red Flash overcame a 15-point second half deficit to beat Bryant. On Saturday, he became the first SFU player in three years to grab 20+ rebounds and just the seventh player in the country since 2010 to post a 20-point, 20-rebound, five-assist game. He finished with career-highs in points (23) and rebounds (20), and added five assists. Drinnon, who averaged 17.0 points, 18.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and shot 57.1 percent for the week, surpassed the 700-rebound plateau in Saturday’s win. The Jamestown, OH native averages 11.8 ppg, and leads the NEC with 9.8 rpg and 12 double-doubles.
