Rucker did her part in allowing Bryant to remain unbeaten in Northeast Conference play. The senior forward led the Bulldogs in scoring, rebounding, assists, field goal percentage and free throw shooting during a pair of road victories last week. Spearheading Bryant’s weekend sweep of the NEC’s Nutmeg State contingent, the 5-foot-11 small forward averaged 20.0 points, 14.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per outing. She shot 46.7 percent from the floor and was remarkably efficient from the charity stripe where she made 12 of 14 attempts. Rucker tallied 17 points, 15 rebounds and three assists during a dramatic victory over second-place Sacred Heart. Her offensive rebound and subsequent putback cut Bryant’s deficit to one point with 1:48 left in regulation. Rucker also added a free throw to bump the Bulldogs’ lead to two points with 00:04 remaining. Rucker recorded her league-leading 11th double-double during Monday night’s affair at Central Connecticut, which was tabbed as the “#NECWBB on ESPN3” Game of the Week. She accounted for 23 points and 13 rebounds in the Bulldogs’ 65-53 come-from-behind victory. Rucker was active during an 18-2 fourth-quarter run that turned a seven-point deficit into a nine-point lead, contributing two points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal over the course of the spurt.
