The NEC Indoor Championship pole vault record may not survive the month of February. Adding to his league lead, Borecki cleared 4.90m (16’ 0.75”) to earn a bronze medal at the BU Terrier Invitational and smash a CCSU program record that stood since 1969. The height, which automatically qualifies Borecki for the IC4A Championships in March, is two centimeters greater than the NEC Indoor Championship meet record (4.88m) set by Robert Morris’ Eric White in 2001. Borecki, who cleared the 4.65m mark in his first two meets of the season, owns the top-three performances by a NEC pole vaulter this year.
