Catone was the Terriers’ top performer for the third consecutive tournament. Averaging 19.46 pins per frame during two days of play at the annual Kutztown University Invitational, the first-year competitor posted the team’s highest overall frame average by a noticeable margin. Only one of two Terriers to start all 11 matches at the tournament, Catone threw strikes at a .438 clip and filled more than 80 percent of the 108 frames that she bowled. The 4-foot-11 right-hander posted a 189.4 game average during Sunday’s traditional team matches and was even better two days earlier when St. Francis faced some of the nation’s elite in quint-baker play. Catone averaged 19.9 pins per baker frame on a day that featured a win over Norfolk State and matches against top-10 opponents McKendree and Stephen F. Austin.
