Sarin steered Fairleigh Dickinson to its second consecutive Fred Underwood Lady Bulldogs Classic team title. The senior bowler’s hot hand yielded a 21.51 pins per frame average over the course of the annual three-day tournament hosted by Bowie State. Leading the Knights to a first-place finish and perfect 13-0 win-loss record, Sarin posted team highs in overall frame average, traditional game average (230.0), strike percentage (.573) and filled frames percentage (.906). Sarin was at her finest during Saturday’s traditional team competition. Topping the entire field in average en-route to earning the Tournament MVP award, the Garden State product reached the 220-pin mark in four out of five team games. She started the day by rolling a 234 game in a 1077-1011 victory over NEC rival St. Francis Brooklyn. Sarin proceeded to post team-leading scores in victories over meet host Bowie State, Virginia Union and Howard. She victimized VUU by rolling a season-high 290. Sarin continued her effectiveness through Sunday’s best-of-7 championship bracket play, helping the Knights top Virginia Union and Norfolk State before downing Howard in the title match. For the tournament, Sarin threw 75 strikes in 131 attempts and cleaned up more than 88 percent of her non-split spare opportunities.
