Stones sits atop the NEC leader board and Wagner’s record book following her shot put performance at the Great Dane Classic. Competing for the first time this calendar year, the third-year Seahawk put the shot 13.70m to break a program record that Sheena Taylor (13.62m) set in 2011. The mark, which was good enough for fourth place overall in a highly-competitive Great Dane Classic field, moved Stones past Robert Morris’ April Krivoniak for first place in the NEC this season. In addition to automatically qualifying her for the ECAC Championships, Stones’ latest effort ranks amongst the Top 20 on the regional performance list.
