Fechko’s near triple-double propelled the Terriers past Patriot League member Loyola (MD) in the team’s final contest before a six-day Christmas break. The 5-foot-9 senior tallied 12 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists and one steal in the 64-54 home win. Playing all 40 minutes, she accounted for the second-highest single-game assist total (8) in the NEC this season and her 15 boards are tied for fourth-most on the league leader board. Fechko shot 44.4 percent from the field against the Greyhounds, including a 2-for-4 clip from downtown, and was a perfect 2-for-2 from the charity stripe. The Ohio product, who first became known for her defense, has become a daily double-double threat. The two-time NEC all-defensive selection has reached double figures in points and rebounds during each of her past four games. She’ll have a chance to add to her team-leading five double-doubles when the Terriers visit the Jersey Shore for the Monmouth Holiday Tournament (Dec. 29-30).
