Guerrera’s 1,000-meter effort at Northeastern University’s Jay Carisella Invitational resulted in a PR, a meet record and a weekly honor from the Northeast Conference. Showing no signs of a “sophomore slump,” the second-year Pioneer ran to a gold medal in 2:26.90. The winning time made Guerrera the new meet record holder and an automatic qualifier for the IC4A Championships in March. The season-opening performance ranks atop the New England region and IC4A leader boards. It also sits second in the entire country according to Direct Athletics’ “All-College Indoor Track List.”
