Gartner acted like an impenetrable barricade for Saint Francis’ defensive front in a Week 11 shutout of Keystone State rival Robert Morris. The freshman tackle was in on a total of five stops during the 21-0 victory, thrice dropping the ball carrier at the line of scrimmage for no gain. One of Gartner’s hits came on a 1st-and-Goal play in the second quarter, stopping RMU’s Rameses Owens at the 9-yard line for a minimal gain. The opposition picked up three yards on a third-down play midway through the fourth quarter, but was stopped short of the sticks by Gartner’s fifth tackle of the game. The stalwart performance resulted in the Garden State product’s third weekly rookie honor of the season.
