WEEK 11 STATS: 5 total tackles (5 solo), 1 PBU, 2 INT
Hayes made plenty of plays to help the Seahawks limit Central Connecticut to seven points, the fewest by a Wagner opponent this season. The Wyoming transfer totaled five solo tackles, one pass break-up and a pair of interceptions that preserved the Seahawks’ second-half lead during the 28-7 conference victory. Hayes denied CCSU on a scoring chance in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter, picking off a pass in the end zone. He came away with his second red zone interception of the day during CCSU’s very next possession, stepping in front of a pass and pulling it in at Wagner’s 11-yard line. Hayes also made contributions in run coverage. His tackle on a 2nd-and-10 play limited the ball carrier to a 1-yard gain and CCSU was forced to attempt a long field goal two snaps later. Hayes derailed another Blue Devils’ second-quarter possession when he broke up a pass on a 3rd-and-12 play.
