WEEK 11 STATS: 193 rush yards, 1 rush TD, 8.0 ypc
Wright’s career day spearheaded a rushing attack that carried Wagner into the win column. Averaging 8.0 yards per carry, Wright ran for a NEC single-game season high 193 yards and one touchdown on 24 attempts in a 28-7 win over Central Connecticut. It was the highest individual single-game rushing output from a Seahawk since November 12, 2011 when Dominique Williams, currently with the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, gained 216 yards on the ground in a win over Robert Morris. Providing a majority of Wagner’s season-high 316 rushing yards, Wright ripped off runs of 21, 17, 16, 14, and 10 yards during the wire-to-wire victory. His 17-yard sprint brought Wagner into the red zone on its second touchdown drive of the first quarter. Wright opened the second half by carrying four times for 37 yards on a 5-play scoring drive. The native Floridian scampered 16 yards on a 1st-and-10 play from the CCSU 20 and picked up the final four yards one snap later. Wright was also the catalyst on Wagner’s next possession, which ended with the team’s fourth touchdown of the day. He ripped off a 66-yard run that handed the Seahawks a 1st-and-Goal at the opponent’s 3-yard line.
