Lukosius lifted the lid of her sophomore season by posting the highest individual traditional average at the Jersey Jamboree. The second-year Knight averaged 218.7 over 10 traditional matches at the 26-team event that included seven national top-10 programs. Averaging 21.61 pins per frame for the entire three-day event, Lukosius led FDU to a third-place overall finish at the first major tournament of the 2015-16 NCAA bowling season. Riding Lukosius’ hot hand, Fairleigh Dickinson posted an 8-2 record during two days of traditional team competition. Lukosius turned in a 215-pin performance in a victory over No. 7 Wisconsin-Whitewater, one of three top-10 teams the Knights defeated in traditional match play. The Garden State product threw a weekend-high 268 game to power the Knights past No. 18 Kutztown in the final match on Friday’s schedule. Lukosius, who exceeded the 200-pin mark in seven of 10 games, bowled a 257 in Saturday’s 161-pin triumph over No. 17 Delaware State. She remained effective during Sunday’s best-of-7 matches against No. 4 Vanderbilt and the aforementioned Del State, accounting for a 20.3 baker frame average. Lukosius, who filled 85 percent of frames bowled throughout the weekend, relied heavily on her strike ball. She registered 77 strikes in 133 attempts (.579).
