WEEK 9 STATS: 8 receptions, 160 receiving yards, 7 First Downs
Buss was a bright spot for Robert Morris during its Week 9 trip to New Britain, rolling through the CCSU defense for a RMU rookie record 160 receiving yards on eight catches. The freshman accounted for the bulk of Colonials’ offense in the setback to first-place Central Connecticut. Averaging 20.0 yards per catch, Buss produced seven of the team’s 10 first downs in the game. He made his first highlight reel-worthy grab on a 2nd-and-10 play late in the first quarter of a scoreless game, pulling in a 40-yard pass to give RMU a fresh set of downs in CCSU territory. With the Colonials looking to cut into a 13-0 deficit, Buss delivered again late in the third quarter. He converted a 3rd-and-4 situation with a 44-yard reception that brought the line of scrimmage down to the CCSU 23. Buss leads all NEC rookies in receptions (34) and receiving yards (523).
