DeRienzo won her 100th career match as a Pioneer on Friday, as she advanced to the second round of both the singles and doubles draw at the ITA Northeast Regional hosted by Dartmouth. The milestone victory came with doubles partner Lindsey Post, as the duo knocked off a pair from Saint Francis U, 8-6, in the opening round of the tournament. Later in the day she made it 101 career wins, defeating Paulina Torres of Albany, 6-2, 7-6 (2), in the first round of singles play. DeRienzo nearly fought her way into the Round of 32 by upsetting 17th seeded Sonya Latcheva of Penn in her next match on Saturday. She took the first set in a tiebreak 7-6 (2) before dropping the final two sets, 2-6, 5-7. Earlier in the month in Sacred Heart’s lone dual match of October against Quinnipiac, DeRienzo was a 6-4, 6-3 winner at first singles. The senior has won a team-high four singles matches this fall.
