WEEK 6 STATS: 6 total tackles, 2.5 TFL, 1.0 sack, FF, FR, INT, QBH
Rentz was the leader of the wrecking crew that was the Sacred Heart defense during Week 6. The Preseason All-American linebacker totaled six tackles and played a first-hand role in three of the Pioneers’ eight takeaways against Robert Morris. Accounting for an eye-popping stat line, Rentz registered 2.5tackles for loss, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He came away with two takeaways during the second quarter of the 26-13 victory. Rentz, who was credited with a QB hurry earlier during the drive, denied the Colonials as they crossed midfield early in the second period by recovering a fumble at the RMU 47. A little more than 10:00 later, Rentz came away with an interception at the RMU 42. With SHU clinging to a 23-13 lead, Rentz struck again by producing a strip sack on the final play of the third quarter. The Rentz-forced turnover set up the final score of the game, a 35-yard field goal.
