Freshman Emma Hubbard led the defending Northeast Conference champion Blue Devils to a 2-0 opening weekend at the Fairfield Invitational. In claiming NEC Player and Rookie of the Week honors, Hubbard scored a pair of game winning goals, the first coming in at the 43rd minute to build CCSU a 2-0 lead in its 3-1 win over Stony Brook on Friday. She then logged her second game winner of the weekend against Fairfield in double overtime, converting a cross from Brianne Casey in the 105th minute to break a scoreless deadlock.
