Spearheading the SHU offense, DeFilippo hit a team-high .500 (7-for-14) during the Pioneers’ series victory over rival Central Connecticut. He totaled four runs and two of his seven hits resulted in extra bases. DeFilippo enjoyed a 3-for-4 performance in Game 2 of the series, a 7-1 triumph that clinched the team’s seventh straight postseason berth. He added two more hits, including a two-out single during the final inning, in Game 3, which was SHU’s lone loss last week. In the series finale, his lone base knock resulted in the eventual game-winning run of a 10-1 triumph.
