Frati wasn’t perfect last week, but his performance was good enough to push Fairleigh Dickinson into the postseason. Pitching to an 0.73 WHIP, Frati recorded a save and a win during the final weekend of the regular season. With the Knights needing a series victory over Mount St. Mary’s to secure the final NEC Tournament berth, the right-handed hurler did his part and held the opponent scoreless during 10 of the 11 innings he pitched. He saw his first action in the series opener, coming out of the bullpen to start the eighth inning with FDU clinging to a 2-1 lead. Frati twirled 2.0 perfect frames to pick up the save in the eventual 9-1 triumph. Two days later, skipper Gary Puccio called his name again. With FDU’s playoff hopes hinging on a victory in the regular season finale, Frati found himself toeing the rubber for the most significant start of his collegiate career. In a display of pure resilience, Frati weathered an early storm and went the distance to earn the win that catapulted the Knights into the NEC Tournament bracket. After shaking off the four-run first inning, Frati allowed only two hits over the final 8.0 frames.
