Week 10 Stats: 4 starts, .643 BA (9-for-14), 6 R, 3 RBI, .722 OBP
Seventy-two percent of McClure’s trips to the plate resulted in the senior reaching base safely last week. Spearheading Fairleigh Dickinson’s series victory over NEC rival LIU Brooklyn, McClure batted .643 (9-for-14) with six runs and three RBI while reaching base at a .722 clip. He recorded at least one hit in all four Northeast Conference contests, including a pair of three-hit games. McClure safely earned his way on base during all five of his plate appearances in the series opener, a 10-6 triumph for FDU. The senior catcher sparked a ninth-inning rally that plated the game-winning run in the first half of Saturday’s double header. With the game tied 5-5 and no one on in the home half of the ninth, McClure connected on a one-out single and eventually came around to score the deciding run in the extra-innings victory. The veteran blasted his second home run of the season during the Knight’s Game 3 win. The Empire State product was part of a sixth-inning eruption that increased a 7-5 lead to an eight-run advantage with all of the scoring coming in the form of two-run bombs. McClure started all four games of the series behind the plate and he threw out three would-be base-stealers over the course of the weekend.
