Karinchak went the distance to secure his first career Northeast Conference victory. The 6-foot-2 freshman blanked Central Connecticut in Game 3 of the Bulldogs’ four-game set. Karinchak allowed only three hits and two bases on balls over 7.0 scoreless innings. He fanned seven in the 90-pitch outing, an 8-0 win for Bryant. All three of CCSU’s hits off of Karinchak were singles. After allowing singles in the first and third innings, the rookie righty proceeded to retire 13 Blue Devils in a row as he worked into the seventh. He surrendered a single and a walk with two outs in the final frame, but induced a groundball fielder’s choice to seal the win.
