O’Hara increased her lead over the Northeast Conference in the hammer throw and picked up a gold medal while doing so. The British-born O’Hara’s first fling of the competition (54.11m) was good enough to claim gold at the Maryland Invitational, but her best mark came on her third attempt. Throwing the hammer 56.78m (186’ 3”), O’Hara obliterated the qualifying standard for the ECAC Championships and currently sits in 18th place on the NCAA East Region leader board. She leads the NEC by 6.52m with SFU teammate Jordin Collins ranking second.
