Wilcox accounted for the best starting pitching performance in the Northeast Conference last week. The junior righty twirled 8.0 innings of two-hit ball in a 3-0 shutout of America East member Hartford. Locked in a pitchers’ duel, Wilcox was brilliant from the onset. He held Hartford hitless through the first 5.0 frames and faced only the minimum number of batters through six. His offense plated three runs in the sixth inning and the Constitution State product made them stand up. Wilcox, who walked two and fanned three, did not allow an extra-base hit and induced 14 groundball outs as Bryant won back-to-back games for the first time all season. He threw 67 strikes during the 99-pitch outing.
