WEEK 15: 28.0 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 1.5 bpg, .535 FG pct.
The senior is surging as the final regular season of her collegiate career nears an end. Helping St. Francis Brooklyn secure a spot in the NEC Tournament for the third year in a row, Veney eclipsed her career scoring high twice last week while averaging 28.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per contest. She shot over 50 percent from the field in both games, accounting for a .535 field goal percentage (23-for-43) last week. The 6-foot forward had a monster game on Senior Day at the Pope Center. Posting her team-leading ninth double-double of the season, Veney tallied a career-high 25 points, 14 rebounds, three blocks and two steals in Saturday’s 71-55 victory over Saint Francis U. Two days later, she recorded the first 30-point performance of her career. Going 13-of-24 from the floor, Veney piled up 31 points and secured five caroms in a three-point setback to Fairleigh Dickinson. The Ohio product is averaging 14.1 points and 7.9 rebounds per game for the Terriers, who have reached a double-digit win total for the third consecutive season. Veney’s scoring (10th) and rebounding (6th) averages both ranks amongst the top-10 NEC statistical leaders.
