Fairleigh Dickinson’s lineup was on fire at the Prairie View A&M Invitational, and Hannon had the hottest hand of the group. Hannon averaged a team-high 22.56 pins per frame while powering the Knights to a 10-3 record at the three-day tournament. Going up against a tournament field that featured the entire top half of the National Tenpins Coaches Association Top 20 Poll, Hannon started all 13 matches and left only 10 opens the entire weekend. Filling 92.5 percent of her frames, she was a key reason why FDU topped the entire field in pinfall. Six of her 10 open frames came on splits, meaning the Western New York product converted 90.7 percent (39-of-43) non-split spare attempts. Hannon was equally impressive during both the baker and traditional portions of the three-day meet. On Friday, she helped the Knights to match victories over No. 1 Nebraska, No. 3 Arkansas State and No. 9 Maryland-Eastern Shore during quint-baker play. En-route to earning a place on the All-Tournament Team, Hannon stayed hot during Saturday’s traditional team round. The sophomore, who earned All-America honors as a rookie, posted a 227.5 traditional team average. She threw a 256 game in a win over tournament host Prairie View and turned in a 215-pin performance in a triumph over No. 4 Central Missouri. Hannon’s strike ball was a significant piece to her success last week. She struck 91 times in 143 attempts (.636).
