Hines’ latest weight throw performance wasn’t near her seasonal best, but it was plenty good enough to earn a gold medal at the Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Open. The FDU thrower registered a 17.33m fling to top the second-place finisher by 1.66m. Far exceeding the ECAC Championship qualifying standard, Hines’ winning toss would make her the NEC leader had she not already held that distinction.
