Thompson reclaimed the league lead in the 500m dash by virtue of her performance at the New York Metropolitan Championships. The first-year Knight crossed the line in 1:15.48, coming in under the ECAC Championships qualifying standard. Thompson won her heat at the Mets and finished fifth overall. It has been a fruitful freshman campaign thus far for the British-born Thompson, who owns the NEC Rookie of the Week award for the fourth time in five weeks.
