Pereira returns to the NEC Track Athlete of the Week spotlight for a second time this season. Her latest honor comes in the wake of her 800m performance at the New York Metropolitan Championships. Pereira clocked in at 2:13.54 to secure a silver medal at the Mets, finishing 0.03 second behind the winner - St. John’s Marlow Schulz. The time makes Pereira the NEC leader in the 800m. The Garden State product also sits third on the league leader board in the 500m dash thanks to her January 30 showing at the NYC Armory.
